TROOPING THE COLOUR

Arguably the best known ceremony in England is the

Trooping of the Colour, and this poster was given pride of place in the 1932 LMS marketing campaign . The ceremony dates back to Charles ll and became associated with the Monarch’s official birthday as early as 1748 .

The scale of the event is huge with well over a thousand troops massed at Horse Guards Parade in full dress uniform together with both marching and mounted bands .
